Born in Tuskegee, Alabama, and reared by her Grandmother, Evangelist Betty Mathurin-Promise was drawn to writing because of her love for the Word of God, for writing and for teaching. Often in life, many occasions arise when we are in need of nurturing or just a kind word, but can find neither. Evangelist Promise, a cancer survivor, would like to be a ray of hope and inspiration to all readers; both those looking for simple support and those interested in more complex discussions of faith.

Mrs. Promise has attended the Tuskegee Institute, New York School of Interior Design, Eastern Bible Institute, a division of Manhattan Bible Institute, Deliverance Bible Institute and Alpha Train Medical School. She was ordained in 1987 at the Church of God in Christ in Newark, NJ.

She is the proud mother of four children (two deceased), eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She is widowed. Now retired, Evangelist Promise is a writer and Associate Pastor of the Greater Friendship Baptist Church (NJ) under the leadership of Pastor Reverend John T. Teabout, Sr.

She is currently working on her next books, "Conquering Faith" and "Still Standing" a revised version of "Soldiers for God."

Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart,
be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.
~ Psalm 19. 14 ~

“Out of suffering have emerged
the strongest souls;
the most massive characters
are seared with scars.”

~ Kahlil Gibran ~
